In the latest technology news for today, Google has confirmed that it will be scrapping its RSS feed extension. The RSS news feed allows people to subscribe to updates and newsfeed from different websites, and they appear on the home feed. The home feed is read by the Google reader app. On July 1st 2012, Google announced that it will retract the Google reader, but now it has already went ahead and removed the news finding and feed forming extension as well.
The RSS feed finder would detect any new content uploaded in your websites of choice and they would appear on the home feed. This was a really easy way to stay on top of all the news and any new content. Google is scrapping the RSS feed project simply because it was never in the mainstream usage way and never bought in much revenue.
Although it did make home feed finding easy and efficient, you can use any other RSS readers, like the RSS subscription finder, that is a spinoff of Google’s own RSS extension. It works identical to the original Google extension.
To critics however this cut does not come as much of a surprise, given that Google over time has become a more main stream and average customer orientated website rather than catering to the needs of people who really understand the web and do not use Google as merely a search engine. This is all for new technology news for today.
